Lithium-Ion Batteries

Lithium-Ion batteries have higher power density, longer battery life and lighter weight than previous battery technologies. They have fewer maintenance issues. In particular, you no longer need to worry about the "memory effect" that crippled the life of NiCd (Nickel Cadmium) batteries. It is still recommended that you completely discharge your battery about once a month to keep it in top operating condition. However, there is a large but finite number of recharge cycles so it will need to be replaced eventually.
